I collected the garbage on a walk in the woods near San Francisco. To escape the urban life I lead, I try to go often to nearby wilderness areas. The trash in the bags was found on one of these escapes.
The cigarette butts are obvious. The candy wrapper indicates how little we respect the environment. The wild turkey feather, in this context, is also garbage, since the birds were introduced here for hunters and have now escaped and are having a negative effect on the native wildlife. The barbed wire must be from an old fence where someone was trying to “tame the west”. The piece of aggregate was probably from an old building left to rot back into the earth, but not succeeding.
